Secret Story Worlds

How the AI narrator works

Every story here is written as you read by an AI narrator — a language model, not a person.

The narrator is software

The narrator writes scenes, dialogue and characters from the world you picked, your persona and the choices you make. Nobody is typing on the other side.

Why the secret stays sealed

Each world's secret is stored apart from the narrator. The narrator only learns a hidden fact once your story has earned it, so it can't spoil the ending early.

The narrator can still get details wrong in the parts it does write.

Who handles your story

To write each scene, the text of your story and your persona go to third-party AI providers through Vercel AI Gateway. Your email address and account name are never sent.

You agree to this before your first story, and you can withdraw it in Settings. AI features pause until you agree again.

When something goes wrong

If the narrator writes something wrong, strange or upsetting, use Report on that part of the story. We review every report, and you can hide and rewrite that part for free.

Taking a break

If you're 16 or 17, we remind you every three hours that you're reading a story written by AI. If you're going through something hard, real people can help — see Support.
